The International Youth Library
The International Youth Library was founded by Jella Lepman who also founded the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY), in the aftermath of World War II. The IYL collects literature for young people from around the world. The collection is located in Blutenburg Castle in Munich Germany. They sponsor traveling exhibits on themes related to international children's literature -- perhaps you could bring one to your library!

USBBY (United States Board on Books for Young People)
is the United States division of IBBY (see below). The USBBY sponsors a very useful series of bibliographies, the Bridges to Understanding series, selects Outstanding International Books each year and holds an IBBY regional conference every two years.
