Throughout March we've been encouraging spring to come, bringing blooms and flowers. In Sweden, the tradition is to bring branches indoors -- pussy willows, forsythia, and other blooming bushes -- in the weeks before Easter. Feathers are also often attached to the branches. Children visited the Imagination Station to add feathers and create birds to decorate the branches. They didn't stay bare for long!
Children also learned about Sweden, our sister library: Gislaved Bibliothek, dala horses and other symbols of Sweden, and Swedish authors like Astrid Lindgren and Elsa Beskow.
